How to Source Bulk Star Anise

Use keywords to find suppliers, but use crop identity, samples, specifications and current documents to compare offers.

1. Choose the product identity

Use Autumn Star Anise, Spring Star Anise Whole, or Spring Broken Star Anise Pieces. Avoid creating multiple names for the same lot solely to target search terms.

2. Define the intended use

Whole-spice retail presentation, foodservice, grinding, blending and extraction may require different visual grades and acceptance criteria.

3. Create measurable acceptance criteria

Confirm visual grade, whole/broken ratio or piece size, moisture, foreign matter, treatment, microbiology, residues, contaminants and any key chemistry relevant to the application.

4. Confirm certification scope

Ask which current certificate covers the product and activity. Check the annex and transaction/document requirements for the destination.

5. Approve a representative sample

Natural crops vary. Keep the approved sample and written specification aligned with the lot and contract.

6. Compare equivalent commercial terms

Price comparison is meaningful only when grade, tests, packing, quantity, Incoterm, payment and delivery window are equivalent.

7. Record the final basis

Place the agreed product name, specification, sample reference, pack, documents and inspection rules in the purchase contract.
